HOW MY MARTIAL ARTS STORY CAN INSPIRE YOU TO BE SUCCESSFUL!

I was fortunate to meet my Sifu Taky Kimura when I was a student at University of Washington in Seattle. Everything happens for a reason, and you must be pro-active! I joined the University Toastmasters Club and got to know my dentist fried, Dr Edward Sutter who introduced me to my Sifu. I respect my Sifu a lot because he is sincere, humble and a good man! I also met my good friend Cyril Williams, my "senior martial arts brother" in Jung Fan Gung Fu - Jeet Kune Do. There is a saying that there are no strangers only friends you haven't gotten to know yet!

When you mix with a dedicated group of martial artists, you are naturally inspired to do your best and I trained hard and was able to do 1,000 sit-ups in a day! I did it in three sessions, each sessions about 350 sit ups! I was proud of that because I knew at that time not many people were able to do that! Whatever you do you must have the passion and the discipline to do it consistently and you need to do the same in your career or business.

I founded a Martial Arts schools in Las Vegas and called in "Ching Shen Tao" which means "The Spiritual Way". I couldn't claim that I can teach Jun Fan Gung Fu because I didn't master it and wasn't appointed an instructor by my Sifu. All along I will always respect my Grandmaster Bruce Lee and Sifu Taky Kimura and will not let them down when it comes to keeping up the legacy my grandmaster left behind of inspiring people to live their dreams and his excellent expression of the martial arts form and philosophy!

At my martial arts school I had three simple rules: The first rule is: The better fighter is the one who knows how to avoid a fight! That means he uses his mind instead of his fist. Use your head, use wisdom to avoid having to fight. The second rule is that if you have to fight, do make sure that you are the one left standing not lying on the floor! And the third rule is not to forget the first and second rule!

The martial arts I taught at my martial arts school in Las Vegas was a combination of what I've learned which is basically Shao Lin Kung Fu, Jun Fan Gung Fu, Wing Chun and Tai Chi. I had a few students and would have continued but I missed home too much, I had a wonderful and loving family and that time I was dating my wife and I missed her too! So that's how I ended up living in Singapore even though I had two opportunities to apply for the green card to stay in USA! That's the power of love!

It's always a good idea to be where your loved ones are close and they can give you the support you need to live your dreams! My martial arts school didn't last more than three months! But it was a great experience about pursuing your dreams because at that time one of my dreams was to own a martial arts school!

I spent 12 years of my life in the travel and advertising industries and have been doing home-based business for over 14 years!

When I returned to Singapore in 1981 after graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, at that time I was the first in Singapore to learn Jun Fan Gung Fu and could have made good money teaching what I've learned but I felt at that time that was not the right thing to do because I didn't master it and wasn't even appointed an instructor by my Sifu. So the main idea here is to constantly ask yourself is that the right thing to do? Buckminster Fuller said it very well: "Integrity is the essence of everything."

Right now I am living my dream as Asia No.1 Home-Based Business Coach and I love to help people make money offline and online to achieve their dreams! Talking about the law of attraction! One of my ealier dreams was to be a tour leader and I ended up doing that for six years! It all started from a visit to Universal Studios when I saw tour escorts taking care of groups, I told myself it would be fun to be in that position and I will enjoy doing that! Be careful of the thoughts you put into your mind, it will come true!

I was inspired to know more about Bruce Lee by Donson Lee,(same last name but not related but definitely related in the martial arts spirit!) my Hong Kong friend. He was also a student at University of Washinton in Seattle. He was a great fan of Bruce Lee and shared with me his admiration and literally inspired me to go to Seattle's Chinatown to buy magazine that has articles and pictures of Bruce Lee. I bought many magazines from Sifu John Leong's store in Chinatown! I met Sifu John when he visited his son Robin Leong in Singapore on the opening ceremony of his son's kung fu studio. My kung fu pants and nunchaku was also bought at his store! I even took a short Gi-Gong class from Sifu John when he was in Singapore! It is really a small world and we are all connected in one way or another!

An interesting thing happened when my Sifu Taky asked me to go to Lakeview Cemetery to pay respect to my Grandmaster Bruce Lee, I followed his instruction but found that I was quite lost at the cemetery because it was a big place and it was quite, there were hardly anyone there and I found it difficult to locate Bruce's grave but it happened like magic when there appeared a group of your martial arts enthusiasts in kung fu gear at the cemetery. I guessed they were visiting my Grandmaster's grave too and I followed them! Talk about sychronicity! There is no coincidence, everything happens for a reason!

When you are sincere and dedicated to what you are doing, things, people and events will turn up to help you in that direction and what you focus on will expand. You will attract things, people and events that are related to what you are thinking!

My association with my Grandmaster Bruce Lee started from my friend Donson, a great Bruce Lee fan, who inspired me to get to know more about Bruce Lee when I was a student at the University of Washington in 1981. Yes, it's true what you focus on will expand and attract people, things and events that are related to it into your life!

I hope this sharing of my experience will inspire you and give you the courage and confidence to focus on what you want and to live your dreams!
